Doilies
February 22, 2008
I don’t like doilies as decorative objects. I don’t use them in my house. But I love (recently) to crochet them. They work up quickly, and each round is usually a different. It keeps me interested.
I recently bought Absolutely Gorgeous Doilies by Patricia Kristofferson. The designs are lovely. I’m working through them one by one.
Park Avenue Doily. Loved everything except the sections of mesh.
Beginnings of the Pineapple Patch Doily. It’s going pretty quickly, and I’m enjoying the pattern.

Beautiful work! I think ecru/natural/cream is a really nice color for doilies.
I also don’t use doilies for decorating, but they are gorgeous. Patricia Kristofferson especially designs gorgeous doilies.

I, too, love to crochet doilies. Although I use some–maybe made by my grandma, I don’t need MORE. My kids & granddaughter don’t decorate using doilies either. So. . .. what will we do with them?
I like doing rounds that are different, but repetitive and the gorgeous lacy results. Nobody I know of needs them but I love to make them.
